DESPITE the controversy due to his breakup with KC Concepcion, last year, actor Piolo Pascual is quite optimistic about his career this year.
Silence has worked to his advantage, as fans still support him for whatever question is there about his sexuality. After all, he's good at what he is doing: he acts well, and performs to his audience's delight.
This year, apart from a drama series on ABS-CBN, he is producing another movie under his own Spring Films. Kimmy Dora 2 is now shooting, and he is planning to do another drama which might star himself.
Maybe, to lessen the burden, Piolo should set aside "lovelife." He's too busy with his career that he really can't take much responsibility on his personal life. While some of showbiz observers are really taking the attack on his sexual preference seriously, his ardent supporters are taking it otherwise. They believe that Piolo really has lesser time for his lovelife, and it was just his fault that it was somebody like KC who longs for more attention that he fell for.
So was it really his fault that he had no (much) time for KC? Just asking...
LIVING UP CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
MEANWHILE, fast becoming a tradition, Piolo Pascual’s collaborative efforts with Sun Life Financial is on its third year featuring three flagship activities: the fun run gamely entitled Racing with the Sun, the art exhibit with the theme Rave for Arts and last but not the least the continued patronage of the Hebreo Foundation with the theme Raise for Education.
With the fun run, Piolo and Sun Life Financial advocate the value of sports in maintaining good physical health and thus sends the message that taking care of one’s health can be easily done and that it is important for both people as individuals and for businesses as well.
As an event, the art exhibit does not only pay homage to the artistic talents of Piolo and Omar Flores, a Hebreo Foundation scholar, as shown in the photographs they have taken and displayed in the exhibit but also essentially re-affirms the fact that although man may have to take care of his physical body he also is a being with a soul.
Finally, with the continued patronage of Hebreo Foundation, an entity committed to helping poor but deserving students to finish their education, Piolo and Sun Life Financial is sending the powerful message that they are there to help and to give financial support to poor students who are struggling to finish their degrees.
Indeed, Piolo and Sun Life Financial have come a long way in terms of advancing their corporate social responsibility.
In giving back to the community, it must feel good indeed for Piolo and Sun Life to be able to share parts of themselves and to know that they have helped others.
What is essential, though, is the sincerity that shines through in these efforts as can be seen by the persistence in their three continuous and fruitful years of endeavors.
It is for this reason that Piolo and Sun Life Financial deserves at this point to be recognized as true nation-builders. And with this endeavor, who couldn't be busier? Just asking...
