“Pinoy Big Brother Unlimited” winner Slater Young and young actress Kim Chiu are among the celebrities who will walk down the runway in the fashion show “Metrowear Rocks the Runway” on May 2.
Young, along with actors Rayver Cruz and Zanjoe Marudo, will be modelling a modern take on menswear, while young fashionista Chiu will show off a creation by designer Francis Libiran, who was just featured on the US TV show, “America’s Next Top Model.”
Another stylish actress, Maja Salvador, will appear in a dress by Avel Bacudio.
The fashion show by Metro magazine, which will be staged at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel, will showcase 20 designers and their unique interpretation of sustainable fashion.
Each designer was tasked to re-imagine, innovate and transform various concepts and perceptions of eco-fashion into sleek and stylish pieces highlighting three of the biggest trends this season: aquatic, retro romance and 1950s couture.
Apart from Libiran and Bacudio, the other designers who will be presenting at the show are Cary Santiago, Joey Samson, Randy Ortiz, Dennis Lustico, Louis Claparols, Ronaldo Arnaldo and Jojie Lloren, as well as young designers Sassa Jimenez, Kermit Tesoro, Mak Tumang, Ferdie Abuel, Eric delos Santos, Jerome Lorico, John Herrera, Veejay Floresca, Roland Alzate, and Martin Bautista, among others.
As a musical backdrop to the show, rock acts Wolfgang, Kjwan, Callalily and Rico Blanco will perform their hits and add an edgy element to this Metrowear presentation.
For its latest issue, Metro magazine celebrates 23 years of style with a special anniversary gatefold cover, which features award-winning actors Judy Anne Santos, Piolo Pascual and Maja Salvador.
