Recent reports linking him to his soap co-star Cristine Reyes must have reached Piolo Pascual and so, by his own initiative, the "Nang Dahil sa Pag-Ibig" lead has felt it necessary to thresh things out with Cristine's boyfriend Rayver Cruz.
A source told Bulletin Entertainment that Piolo reached out to Rayver in the midst of all the talks about the latter's supposed breakup with Cristine. The Kapamilya hunk assured the actor-dancer that he is not the third wheel in this brewing rumor, as reported a few weeks ago.
Piolo reportedly told Rayver not to worry because the rumors romantically linking him to Cristine were baseless. Rayver believed the former was telling the truth and even felt ashamed that the former took some time to sort out things with him even if he didn't need to.
Cristine, as rumors claimed, was 'flirting' with Piolo during their taping and was being extra sweet to him.
But the source also claimed that Rayver and Cristine had already headed for Splitsville back in February, the breakup supposedly being caused by little differences that continued to pile up. Petty quarrels had apparently a toll on the relationship that Ara Mina's younger sister initiated the break-up.

One time, during a Christmas special taping last year, she supposedly asked Rayver, who was then doing the blocking, to watch a movie with her. He declined as he was still working and this purportedly incensed Cristine. At another time, she seemingly got infuriated when Rayver refused to leave the rehearsals for "ASAP" just to be with her.
Lately, Cristine is trying to reconnect with Rayver again. She's invited him to a Bible sharing session a few times.
Rayver's friends and family, the source stressed, are worried that Rayver might fall for Cristine's charms again.
When the split rumor surfaced last March, Cristine issued a denial.
"Ok naman po kami ni Rayver. Same pa rin. Wala naman pong issue na dapat pag-usapan... Haay kayo talaga hmp!" she told PEP on March 22.
A few days after, Rayver, in a PEP interview posted March 26, supported Cristine's denial of their breakup.
"Basta ang masasabi ko, straight to the point, na kami pa rin ni Aa (Cristine's nickname), we're still the same," Rayver explained.
Aside from corroborating Cristine's statement, he also brushed off rumors that he was jealous of Piolo. Cristine has been very open in saying that she's got a big crush on the hunk actor.
"Eto lang 'yun, sinong babae ang hindi magkaka-crush kay Piolo? Ang sa akin, paghanga 'yan! Ako, may mga crushes din ako."
