Cherry Pie Picache Pinuri Nang Husto si Kim Chiu

Award-winning actress Cherry Pie Picache is all praises for young actress Kim Chiu, who she tagged as the “Princess of Teleseryes.”

Picache is set to work with Chiu once again in an ABS-CBN soap.

“I’m happy to be working again with Kim. Walang bola ‘to ah, Kim is one of the hottest female stars that we have now. She’s the Princess of Teleseryes,” she told ABS-CBN News on Thursday.

Picache previously played the role of Jean Sy, Jade Dimaguiba’s (portrayed by Chiu) nemesis in defunct series “My Binondo Girl.”

The veteran actress observed how Chiu remains humble despite the success she has achieved in the local entertainment industry.

"Ang maganda kay Kim, from the first time I've worked with her ‘til now, makikita mong grounded siya, hindi siya nagbabago. With all the achievements that she has received, very grounded," she said.

"Makikita mo 'yung passion niya especially to learn her craft, so hindi lang 'yung pagiging star niya, 'yung pagiging hottest female princess. 'Yung craft, 'yung tiyaga, 'yung sakripisyo. I see that she has a very good attitude towards work, walang bola 'yun. I seldom say that," Picache added.

Mother and daughter

From being rivals, Picache and Chiu will play mother and daughter in upcoming series “Ina, Kapatid, Anak.”

"Iba 'yung dynamics ngayon. [Dati] lagi ko siyang inaapi, pero ngayon [magkakampi] kami. Masayang-masaya ako kasi ang pakiramdam ko maganda 'yung soap namin.

"Talaga, totoo, excited ako, kasi nag-umpisa na kami mag-taping eh. Ta's mararamdaman mo dun sa mga ginawa niyong eksena, 'pag binasa mo 'yung script, so I'm very excited," she said.

Aside from Chiu and Picache, "Ina, Kapatid, Anak" will also star Maja Salvador, Xian Lim, Enchong Dee, Rayver Cruz, Janice de Belen, Ronaldo Valdez, Eddie Gutierrez, and Pilar Pilapil.

It is set for release later this year on ABS-CBN.
