Xian Lim denies having an attitude problem on set

After doing primetime drama, Xian Lim takes on a different kind of project as one of the hosts of the Kapamilya network’s newest kiddie reality show, the Promil Pre-School i-Shine Talent Camp. The matinee idol admitted he is enjoying working on the show with the 12 kiddie finalists and his co-hosts Matteo Guidicelli and Dimples Romana and expert mentors from ABS-CBN which include John Prats, Karylle, Luis Manzano, and directors Bobot and Frasco Mortiz.

Masaya kasi nga yung jokes nila is nakakabata, nakakatuwa kasi yung mga kids parang naglalaro lang sila. They’re not showing any form of competition. Ini-enjoy nila yung ginagawa nila so nakikita namin yun. Pag nakikita namin yun, natutuwa kami, parang nadadala kami. Along the way natututo din kami eh kasi siyempre nakikita naming yung mga tips ni Luis, yung mga tips ni John Prats sa dancing and Karylle sa acting. Nakakatuwa so kami rin may natututunan,” he shared during the i-Shine Talent Camp presscon held last June 19 at the ABS-CBN compound.

The 22-year-old singer-actor also cleared up rumors that he has become especially difficult to work with because of his growing popularity. Xian denied that he had an attitude problem during shooting one of his commercials. “Always ko naman sinasabi, as much as I try my best to please everyone, I can’t really please everyone and ang mapapakita ko lang naman talaga sa kanila yung ako di ba? Yun lang naman pinapakita ko and I’m just happy merong supporters. I look more sa positive side rather than the negative. Pero okay din naman na naririnig ko yung mga ganun para maisip ko rin na bakit kaya nila nasabi yun? So I look back and then hopefully pag nagkita kami kung sino man nagsasabi nun, makita nila yung totoong side of me,” he explained during the i-Shine Talent Camp event.

Xian said he wants to just get the chance to prove his detractors wrong. “I always entertain the positive side of things kasi it’s not going to help if I dwell on the negative. Pero yun nga, pag meron silang second chance or third chance na magkita kami, maybe they can get to know me more, hindi naman yung first sulyap pa lang ganun na. As much as possible happy happy lang gusto ko. Kasi kapag happy lang talagang smooth flowing eh. Hopefully habang tumagal ako, makita naman nila yung kakayahan. May nag-explain sa akin niyan and yung mga details nung nangyari hindi nagtugma sa mga ginawa kong commercials. So it’s completely false kasi may prueba na kung i-search pa nila yung mga ibang commercials na ginawa ko, walang ganun,” he said.

Xian said he harbors no grudges against those who think he is like that. “Just want to say thank you na nandiyan silang lahat. Negative man or positive, I’m just really happy that they take time to recognize and acknowledge the positive,” he added.

The i-Shine Talent Camp host said that if ever anything has changed about him since he entered showbiz, it is his social life. “Nakakapag-interact ako with plenty of people. Dati kasi ang nakikita ko lang my classmates, my friends which is ilan lang sila, tatlo lang sila (laughs). Tapos usually sa basketball court and my mom pagkauwi sa bahay. Pero now there’s a lot of people. Na-i-introduce ako sa iba’t ibang types of people. So yun ang nakakatuwa with entering showbiz. Friendly naman ako talaga pero it’s more on nasalang ako sa maraming nakakausap, ganun, mga ka-bond,” he shared.
