Jake Cuenca is now on the verge of accepting a gay role for an upcoming movie that will be directed by Joel Lamangan and will also star Baron Geisler and Lovi Poe. “Sobrang na-flatter nga ako dahil si Direk Joel mismo ang tumawag sa akin,” beamed Jake. However, Jake clarified that he has yet to formally accept the role and that his management is still in talks with the producers of the movie.
Jake said that he does not mind doing another gay role. “Artista po ako, so kung ako, gusto ko ang material, kung mage-enjoy ako sa pagpi-play ng role at interesado ako sa proyekto, hindi ko lilimitahan ang sarili ko,” he declared. The first time Jake played a gay role was for a Maalaala Mo Kaya episode.
Though his management is still negotiating with the movie’s producers, Jake said that he has already expressed his openness to consider the role. “I’m really interested in the project kasi matagal ko nang gustong makatrabaho si Direk Joel Lamangan. I’m also on the lookout for an indie movie. Na-inspire ako nung pumunta ako ng Urian. Parang medyo namulat ang mata ko na gustong kong i-pursue ang mga indie movies, lalo na ang mga ganitong materyal.”
Excited to work again with Lovi
If Jake accepts the role, he will work again with Lovi, whom he worked with in the film My Neighbor’s Wife. Rumor has it that because of that film, Jake and Lovi became very close and that they allegedly had a romantic relationship. However, no confirmation was made by both celebrities. “Excited, sobrang sarap siya katrabaho, saka talented siyang artista. I’m excited to do the movie.”
Jake gave a safe answer when he was asked if working with Lovi again was another reason for him to want to do the movie. “Excited ako in every aspect of the movie, with Lovi and Baron na matagal kong di nakatrabaho.”
He added that he does not mind doing kissing scenes and love scenes again with Lovi in the movie if and when he decided to accept the offer.
When prodded if he and Lovi still go out, he said, “Oo, pag nakikita ko siya."
