Kaye Abad declines "Pantasya ng Bayan" tag shocked to be paired with John Prats

Kaye Abad will be reuniting with other Star Magic artists for its 20th anniversary special on ASAP 2012 this Sunday, July 8.

Kaye will be performing with Rica Peralejo, Lindsay Custodio, Jan Marini, and Diane Dela Fuente as they reminisce the times when Star Magic was still at its infancy stage.

During the rehearsal of their production number at ELJ Building inside the ABS-CBN compound last July 3, Tuesday, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) had a quick chat with the former Tabing Ilog actress.

“Masaya.

So yun, nakakatuwa," she said about their reunion.

If they would ever be given a project again together, Kaye would like to bring back the old times.

“Ganun ulit, gag show na parang Ang TV ulit. Kasi, masaya yun, e.

"And sana nga 'andun din sina Paolo [Contis]… kung sinu-sino talaga kami dati. Masaya yun, riot yun!”

ANGELITO SEQUEL. The high-rated afternoon soap Angelito: Ang Batang Ama—which Kaye co-stars with JM de Guzman and Charee Pineda—will be back for another season.

While they did not expect this much positive response, Kaye and the rest of the cast are happy to be working again.

“Nakakatuwa. Hindi namin ini-expect na magiging ganun ka-successful yung show. Masaya kasi may trabaho.

“Pangalawa, magkakasama-sama kami ulit. Kasi nabitin kami nung huli, e, nung part one.

"'Tapos nalaman na may part two, excited kaming lahat.

“'Tapos may mga bagong characters pa.

In this new chapter, Kaye shared, Angelito (played by JM) will be facing tougher challenges.

“Mas ano ngayon, e…pa'no ba… May pa-tweetums siya ngayon na may halong… mas malalim kasi yung problema na pagdadaanan ngayon.”

JOHN PRATS AS LOVE INTEREST. "Shock" was how Kaye described her reaction the moment she found out that John Prats will play the role of her new love interest.

Kaye and John’s friendship could be traced back to their Ang TV days. Kaye asserts, she has always treated the PBB Uber host as a younger brother.

They had always been close, she explained, “Kami ni John? Oo! Sobra.

"Kami nina Camille [Prats, John's sister]… yun yung grupo namin, e... sina Angel [Angelica Panganiban].

"So, good luck talaga.”

THE GIRL YOU WANT TO GROW OLD WITH. This was the title of Kaye's June cover for FHM.

PEP asked Kaye, how does she feel that it was at this point in her career that she can now be considered a "Pantasya ng Bayan?"

“Dyusko, Pantasya ng Bayan, isa 'yang kasinungalingan!” she retorted.

The modest actress even managed to mock herself, “Ewan ko ba. Yung title pa The Girl You Want to Grow Old With… is old. May kasama yun sa likod, ‘is old.’”

Kaye declines the label.

“Uhm, pinapantasaya?

Humility aside, how is it being tagged as an “ideal girl”?

"A, sabi ko, 'Bakit, yaya ba ako?'” she related comically.

Maybe it’s because of her very conservative and wholesome image.

“I’m trying to change! Hindi… ewan ko. Siguro.

“'Tapos, what you see is what you get, yun ako.

And to all the single guys wondering, yes, she is open to dating.

“Dating? Oh, yes! Enjoy yung, lahat, paglabas [with friends].

“All the single guys, I’m ready to mingle!”
