Maja wants to further improve her craft

Maja Salvador isn't resting on her laurels after winning the Gawad Urian Award for best actress for her performance in “Thelma.”

In an interview with “Bandila” on Tuesday, Salvador said she is happy with her latest achievement but she knows that she still has a lot of things to learn when it comes to acting.

Salvador, however, admitted that her award boosted her confidence as an actress.

Sabi po sa akin gamitin ko 'yun as motivation para mas mapagbutihan ko pa ang trabaho ko,” she said.

Salvador said she considers herself fortunate for being in a generation that has many talanted actors and actresses.

Mahirap kasi kapag negative ka na makikipaglaban,” she said.

But just like any celebrity, Salvador said she also gets affected when some people say bad things about her.

“Siyempre tao din po ako. Kung may ipakita silang hindi maganda sa akin at alam kong hindi naman totoo, nasasaktan po ako,” she said.

Salvador said she would like to prove her critics wrong by showing them her real personality even when she’s not in front of the camera.

“Yung mga hindi ako nagugustuhan, sabi naman nila you can’t please everybody. Kung magkakaroon po ng chance na makasama ko sila, ipapakita ko kung sino ba talaga ako para makilala nila ako,” she said.
