There’s no denying the fact that Myrtle Sarrosa is one of the most controversial Pinoy Big Big Brother winners. Moments after she was named Teen Big Winner last July 7, 2012, the phrase “Hindi Ka Deserving Myrtle” instantly became a trending topic on Twitter.
Myrtle told reporters at the Big 4 press conference last July 11 that she was at first affected by the negative comments surrounding her win. “Of course, ma-he-hurt ako at first. Pero na-realize ko na kanilang opinion yun. For me, masaya ako," she explained.
According to the 19-year old cosplayer, another bit of news that greatly affected her was when she heard that people were claiming her family spent a large amount of money to vote for her. ”No, walang ini-spend ang family ko for publicity,” she claimed.
However, Myrtle did admit that being an active member in the cosplaying community greatly contributed to her being named the Big Winner. “Before entering PBB, hindi naman po sa pagmamayabang, may name na ako sa cosplay community kasi nag-ko-compete ako nationwide, so may supporters na talaga ako. So yun po, baka po tinulungan nila ako and very thankful ako sa kanila dahil tinulungan nila ako,” she shared.
She also gave her reaction regarding people who say that their batch is too horny and that all they think about are love and romance. "Yung line na 'PBB Teens' para sa akin okay lang yun na tawagin kaming PBB teens. Pero para sa amin talaga yung relationship namin is more like brothers and sisters. And parang tuwing magkakasama kami, nagkakatuwaan lang kami."
