Veteran actor Ronaldo Valdez admitted that it was a big challenge to do Star Cinema's upcoming movie "The Mistress," with actress Bea Alonzo in the title role.
In the film, Alonzo plays Sari, the mistress of Rico, played by Valdez.
"Nung mabasa ko 'yung script at nalaman ko 'yung role ko bilang si Rico, ang mature benefactor ni Sari, na-excite ako kaya pumayag agad ako," Valdez said. "Kinilig ako kasi it’s a love story of two people na nagkataon 'yung isa younger at 'yung isa older at nagkataon din na meron nang pamilya si Rico."
Valdez, who worked with Alonzo on ABS-CBN's "I Love Betty La Fea," said it wasn't easy to do intimate scenes with the young actress.
"Sa 'Betty La Fea,' anak ko si Bea dun. Dito, karelasyon ko siya... Dahil baka mailang siya I tried my best to be ease with her. Ayokong isipin niya na nagte-take advantage ako. Well it's work, but then again syempre kailangan ng preparations lalo na at may love scenes," the veteran actor said.
Valdez also praised Alonzo's professionalism as an artist.
"Nagtatanong siya kung papaano ang mas magandang atake sa ilang eksena. It’s a partnership so nakakapag-input kami para magmukhang natural ang lahat," the father of singer Janno Gibbs said.
The film also stars veteran actress Hilda Koronel, who plays Valdez's wife, and actor John Lloyd Cruz as Sari's lover.
"The Mistress," which marks the 10th anniversary of the Cruz -Alonzo love team, will hit theaters on September 12.
