Anne Curtis bags FAMAS best actress award

Kapamilya star Anne Curtis received the FAMAS Best Actress award for her role in Star Cinema's "No Other Woman".

Curtis bested 7 other actresses nominated for the award, including Angel Locsin, Pokwang and Cristine Reyes.

The award is the first FAMAS trophy for the 27-year-old actress.

“Thank you so much to the board member and jurors of FAMAS for giving me the Best Actress award for No Other Woman. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you so much,” Curtis posted on her Instagram account after the 60th FAMAS Awards held at the Manila Hotel on Tuesday.

Other Kapamilya stars bagged trophies from the prestigious awards, including Angelica Panganiban (Best Supporting Actress – “Segunda Mano”) and Xyriel Manabat (Best Child Actress – “A Mother's Story”).

The action film “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story” was a big winner at the awards show, winning Best Picture, Best Actor for Jeorge Estregan, and Best Supporting Actor for Baron Geisler.

Jessy Mendiola, Enrique Gil and Daniel Padilla, meanwhile, were among the young stars recognized with the German Moreno Youth Achievement Award.
