After winning the Most Fashionable Male award during the recent Star Magic Ball, Daniel Padilla said he enjoyed wearing a formal suit designed by Nat Manilag and glasses for a change while escorting Kathryn Bernardo down the red carpet at the Rizal ballroom of the Makati Shangri-la hotel in Makati city. Daniel admitted he was curious as to how people would react to his preppy look that night. “Siguro wala lang, para masabi lang nilang may nagbago sa akin. Ngayon lang siguro para may something lang naman,” he shared.
When asked what his participation was for the night, the 17-year-old actor said he just planned to enjoy escorting Kathryn around all night. “Wala naman, uupo lang kami at tatawa,” he told Push.com.ph.
Daniel also shared that although he was feeling under the weather during the Princess and I thanksgiving party, he was glad to have recovered in time to enjoy the Star Magic Ball. “Oo nga may sakit ako nun eh, pero okay na. Si Kathryn nagkasakit din pero buti na lang naka-recover na siya,” he shared.
The son of Rommel Padilla and Karla Estrada said that he is lucky to have her by his side. “Pa-simpleng maalaga yan. Tulad ng hindi papayag yan na magugutom ka, mga ganyan. At talagang maalaga siya para sa akin, siyempre naman,” he revealed.
Daniel said he is looking forward to his first time to go to the United States for the Princess and I Royal Caravan tour. “Si Kathryn hindi niya first time makarating dun pero ako oo. Na-e-excite ako kasi siyempre kasama ko si Kathryn tapos mag-u-US ‘di ba?” he shared.
After recently celebrating the one-year anniversary of their love team Kathniel last September 4, Daniel said he has tried to get to know Kathryn as much as he can. “Basta tungkol kay Kathryn? Alam ko na lahat! Nililista ko kasi eh (laughs) hindi loko lang,” he said jokingly.
The two are also slated in be part of a Metro Manila Film Festival entry that starts filming in October. The movie stars Kris Aquino and Vice Ganda, both of whom have shows where Daniel and Kathryn have guested on several times already.
On and off-cam, Daniel and Kathryn have reportedly been seen doing public displays of affection (PDA) and have even shared lovey-dovey photos online. Despite all this, the teen stars will only admit to being good friends. Daniel defended his stance as being nothing more than a gentleman to his pretty co-star. “Hindi po kasi ako torpe at maalaga ako, yun lang po masasabi ko. Sa mga taong hindi po nakakalapit sa babae, wala po kayo, dapat ayusin niyo (laughs). Hindi ko gusto yang PDA na yan ha. Oo, nakita ko nga yang balitang yan eh. Alam mo naman yung ibang tao, wala naman akong pakialam at maraming salamat sa pagpapapansin niyo,” he said.
