John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo parehas masaya sa resulta ng premiere night of The Mistress

John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo were both happy with their performance at the successful premiere night of The Mistress, September 11. Bea did a good job playing Sari, a mistress whose allure lies in her aura of innocence and vulnerability. “After watching the film, nabawasan yung kaba ko. Kasi whatever happens, we have a good movie. We’re so blessed to have worked with a great director like Inang (Olivia Lamasan),” Bea began.

In this movie, John Lloyd showed that he still has the same charm and dramatic prowess that endeared him to the public as seen in his scenes with Bea and Ronaldo Valdez. “Nakita niyo naman, kagaya ng sinasabi namin, na iba ang pelikulang ito. So I guess na-deliver naman kung anong pinangako namin. I am thankful kasi bihira na makatanggap ka ng ganitong klaseng project na may ibang brand ng Olivia Lamasan, especially sa ganitong klaseng kwento,” he stated.

Asked if he was able to identify with his character JD, John Lloyd admitted that it took a while before he got the hang of his role—who’s not just an overconfident playboy but also a man who harbors angst about certain circumstances in his life. “Ang hirap dahil yung character na JD, it took a while bago siya kumapit. Buti na lang matiyaga yung director ko at aming writer. Tsaka si Bea matiyaga.”

John Lloyd gave credit to his team-up with Bea. Their chemistry and good working relationship really helped for them to deliver a mature kind of love story to their fans. “Hindi kailangan ni Bea ng tips sa pagarte. Ang maganda sa amin, we allow ourselves to feel each other para madala kayo sa kung anong dapat ninyo puntahan emotionally. I guess isa yun sa pinakamagandang katangian ng team-up namin.”
