Maja Salvador made it clear that she no longer wants to rehash whatever led to her breakup with Matteo Guidicelli. Although the latter supposedly made an effort to woo her again, the acclaimed actress maintained that their relationship just didn’t work out. “Civil kami sa isa’t isa. Pero sabi ko nga, ayoko na muna pagusapan. Respeto ko na lang sa kanya at sa pamilya niya. Tama na muna.”
Maja also refuted speculations that Matteo merely used her to build a name for himself in show business. As it is, the actor not only comes from a well-off family, but he is also known for being a champion kart racer in the country. “Bakit may ganyang issue? Unfair naman kay Matteo. Yun nga, marami naman siyang achievements sa buhay niya. Bago pa ako dumating, Matteo Guidicelli na siya.”
In the same vein, she was glad that the rumors linking her to Sam Milby have died down. “Hindi maganda na may nadadamay na tao sa isang problema mo. Nanahimik siya tapos madadamay sa issue so okay na tapos na.” Luckily, the controversy didn’t create any awkwardness between them. “Hindi po, kasi sanay naman na kami sa industriya natin, ganon talaga. Konting tinginan lang o kaya tapik tapik na ganyan nalalagyan minsan ng kulay.”
People haven’t seen her cry over her failed relationship with Matteo. But according to Kim Chiu, who’s very close to Maja, the latter is not the just the type who shows her emotions or weakness in public. In fact, Maja didn’t let her heartbreak affect her work at all. “Siyempre kailangan ko magfocus sa trabaho. Hindi naman porket wala kang love life hindi ka na magfofocus sa trabaho.”
Where does she get the strength that enables her to balance all aspects of her life? “Salamat na lang siguro dahil Libra ako (laughs). Hindi, siguro sa mga experience ko sa buhay. Yun ang nagpapatatag sa akin. Mas natutunan ko kung paano ihandle yung mga bagay bagay, paano i-handle ang relationship, how to handle family problems at career.”
