Sarah's mom asked to fire makeup artist, stylist

Divine Geronimo, the mother of Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo, was allegedly the reason the singer’s stylist and makeup artist for seven years were fired, YES! Magazine reported in its October 2012 issue.

YES! writer Jocelyn Valle cited a source saying Divine dropped Sarah’s makeup artist Jing Monis and stylist Eric Pe Benito because of their supposed “allegiance” to actor Gerald Anderson.

The YES! source, who is close to Anderson, said it is already expected of Divine to fire anyone working with Sarah who is pro-Gerald.

“Yes totoo 'yan. Anyone na kakampi kay Gerald o ini-encourage si Sarah na lumaban, asahan mo, didispatsahin ni Divine! Everybody in Viva and ABS-CBN knows this as a fact,” the source said.

Monis, however, denied this report and said the only reason why he and Sarah parted ways was because he has become busy managing his own salons.

“Oh my God! Where did that come from?” Monis said.

Pe Benito, on the other hand, confirmed to YES! that he was removed as Sarah’s stylist soon after the singer’s birthday concert at the Araneta Coliseum last July.

“Na-confirm ko lang after, when someone from Viva told me that it was a directive nga from the mom na kami daw ni Jing Monis, ‘wag na gamitin,” he shared.

Benito denied though that he is pro-Gerald.

“No, I don’t get to talk to Sarah about Gerald. Wala, wala. For me kasi, as far as I’m concerned, whatever will make her happy, go! ‘Di ba ganoon?” he said.

“Kasi ano, blushing kami whenever sinasabi 'yong pangalan ni Gerald. Lahat kami parang ‘Oh my God!’ Parang ganoon. ‘Sige na, Sarah, dali na. Kung ayaw mo, amin na lang,’” he said.

Pe Benito also noted that “Sarah is the most secretive person in the world.”

According to the stylist, he is regrets losing the professional relationship he has built with Sarah.

“I kinda feel bad because she is a friend na din. The mom is a control freak eh. So gusto niya controlled niya lahat. She’s difficult. You can quote me on that! She is difficult in the sense that, ano, she likes to control things,” said Pe Benito.
