Ryan Christian Recto came to the defense on his brother Luis Manzano, whose relationship with actress Jennylyn Mercado is now the subject of showbiz speculations.
In a taped interview with “The Buzz,” Recto said he asked Manzano how they are doing and when his brother said they are okay, he believed him.
“With Jennylyn, masaya si Kuya which is good for both of them. Every time kumbaga he invites her to the house, I could see them, sweet naman silang dalawa together. They’re doing okay naman. When I asked him naman, he said they’re doing okay,” he siad.
Recto said he looks up to his brother as someone who knows how to balance everything in life.
“Napakabait niya. Masipag siya and pagdating sa family naman, he’s always consistent din naman. No matter how busy he is sa work, he always makes it a point to hangout with the family,” he said.
Having said this, Recto admitted that he wants to become like Manzano in the future.
“I wanna possess the qualities he has someday in the future when I grow up. I want to be someone like him because he’s very successful. He’s a good person naman also,” he explained.
Relationship not ‘on the rocks’
Meanwhile, Manzano himself reiterated on “The Buzz” that he is totally clueless as to where the “on the rocks” issue came from.
“Yung issue na nagkalabuan, hindi namin napag-usapan 'yun. That’s how out of the blue it was. Kahit ako, I’m very curious kung saan nanggaling 'yung nagkakalabuan. Kung sino pong nakakaalam, please let me know,” he said.
Manzano also refuted claims saying he deleted his photos with Mercado on his Facebook account.
“Definitely not. Ni-isang picture, wala po akong binubura sa Facebook. Magbubura ako ng picture pero yung status ko 'in a relationship'? Ang weird naman noon,” he said.
Last week, Mercado’s name got dragged in the separation of actor Paolo Contis from his wife, Lian Paz.
Manzano reiterated on "The Buzz" that he already talked to Paz just to get all sides of the story.
“Yes, tinawagan ko si Lian. I don’t want to elaborate dahil siyempre may pinagdadaanan sila ni Paolo, especially with kids involved. Pero para sa akin, sa industriya, there are four sides to a story -- your side, my side, the truth and the truth according to anyone. Anyone can give out information and mayroong maniniwalang automatic na katotohanan iyon. I wanted to get as much as possible all sides,” he said.
According to Manzano, everything was cleared up after his conversation with Paz.
“Dumiretso na ako kay Lian. Nagkuwentuhan kami. Even Paolo came out to clear Jennylyn’s name. Maayos naman ang lahat,” he explained.
