During the promo period of 24/7 In Love, one of the most anticipated love teams was that of Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson’s since it had been two years since they worked together in the movie Til My Heartaches End. Their past relationship was brought up and most people wondered whether or not their reunion project could spark a romance once again. But Kim made it clear that she and Gerald are better off as friends. “Siyempre, ano, matagal na [sarado ang puso ko para kay Gerald]. Yun, siyempre, masaya ako na magkaibigan kami ni Gerald at hindi magkaaway,” she said during that November 2012 press con.
In an exclusive interview with The Buzz Magasin, Kim further shared how she was able to honestly answer that she’s no longer romantically interested in Gerald who happens to be her first love. “E, siyempre dalawang taon na ang nakalilipas, wala na akong angst. Tanggalin na natin yun. Mas maganda kung lagi kang positive. Nangyari na, e. Wala ka ng magagawa. Kung ie-stress mo ‘yung sarili mo, mahu-hurt ka pa sa mga tanong na gano’n, problema mo na ‘yun sa sarili mo. Parang tapos na, okay na,” she reiterated.
It was probably a good closure for Kim since she and Gerald were able to catch up like old times. “Nitong 2012, ang daming nangyari sa akin at ang daming nangyaring hindi ko inaasahan. Tulad ng 24/7 In Love, ‘yung pagkakatrabaho namin ni Gerald, and kung paano kami towards each other after two years.”
