Although Angel Locsin still insists that her relationship with football player Phil Younghusband is unofficial, she stressed that the set-up works for them.
“Honestly, sa akin kasi marami nga diyang official ang status but hindi naman nagwo-work, hindi naman masaya. Kung ano ang okay sa inyo, kung ano ‘yung nagwo-work, kung ano ‘yung nakakapagpasaya sa inyo, eh, di ‘yun muna ang sundin ninyo. Kung meron konting confusion, na magkakaroon naman talaga, mase-settle naman ‘yun sa tamang oras, sa tamang panahon. But for now, doon muna (kami ni Phil) sa nagwo-work,” Angel explained during the presscon for “Unofficially yours," a romance-comedy that pairs her with John Lloyd Cruz.
Angel revealed that she’s a newbie in the rom-com genre which was why she made some adjustments. Having worked with John Lloyd in a futuristic series, "Imortal," the movie proved to be a breath of fresh air for the actress.
“Dito hindi kami nagkakagatan,” she quipped. “Iba ‘yung atake sa rom-com. Actually, nahirapan kaming mag-adjust. Tinuruan pa ako ni direk (Cathy Garcia-Molina) kung paano mas maging natural. Si Lloydie, pinakita niya lahat dito at binigay niya lahat.”
Playing a lifestyle reporter in the movie, Angel’s character gets into a one-night stand with Lloydie’s budding lifestyle writer role. This was followed by a series of one-night stands which led to Lloydie’s character to fall in love with that of Angel’s.
In the movie, Angel dabbles in a lot of sexy bed scenes with John Lloyd. Although she’s not veritably new to this having gone sexy in her movie with Aga Muhlach, still, Angel got nervous doing their love scenes.
“To be honest ang laki ng nerbiyos ko kaya lang ayaw kong iparamdam kay Lloydie kung kinakabahan ako, ninenerbyos ako dahil kakabahan din siya. Wala akong iniisip na iba. In character ako tapos gusto ko rin siyang (John Lloyd) alagaan. I’m happy na hindi siya naiilang,” she said.
She’s grateful that her leading man was gentleman enough to take precautions during and after the take.
“In all fairness kay Lloydie inalagaan naman niya ako. Minsan nga siya pa ang nagtatakip sa akin. Very gentleman siya.”
