Actor Diether Ocampo played teacher to 30 kids of Delpan, Makati City last March 3 as a storyteller for the DZMM TLC (Teaching Learning Caring) clinic and classroom on-wheels project. Diether read the story “Ay! May Bukbok ang Ngipin ni Ani!” by Luis P. Gatmaitan, M.D. to the kids in the TLC mobile library and engaged them in a discussion after.
DZMM TLC and its partners also offered free medical consultations to 900 patients, fed 800 residents, and distributed free reading glasses to 150 people. Diether is just one of the celebrities who have offered their time for DZMM TLC, which has helped over 30,000 people in different communities through its storytelling sessions, medical check-ups, and feeding missions in underprivileged barangays.
The innovative project has won awards at the 2012 Anvil Awards and 2011 Philippine Quill Awards, which recognize outstanding communication and public relations programs.
