Following the recent vehicular accident of young actor Neil Coleta along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City, another celebrity, this time Jennylyn Mercado, is said to have gotten into an unpleasant situation while she was in Abra.
The Kapuso actress purportedly got an electric shock while taking a bath using a portable water heater in a hotel in the said province, where she went last March 5 for a show.
Though she did not suffer major injuries from the purported accident, she is said to have been experiencing dizziness and nausea and also gave off a burning stench, a PEP feed on March 7 said. The mayor of the town she went to also reportedly apologized to the “StarStruck” alumna over the incident.
Jennylyn has yet to comment on the matter. Based on her most recent tweets, however, it seems that the “Showbiz Central” co-host is in good shape.
On March 6, she tweeted a photo of an aerial view of Abra and wrote, “Bye abra.."
In the same afternoon after her flight back to Manila, Jennylyn embarked on a training at the Ultra Sports Complex in Pasig in preparation for her participation at the Ironman competition and Powerade Duathlon.
“Swim, bike, run like hell!!” she posted.
If the incident were true, Jennylyn is apparently lucky that she got out of harm’s way. Some eight years ago, Katya Santos’ boyfriend of two years, Tonton Alcaide, died of electrocution while taking a shower at a resort in Puerto Galera where he was having a vacation with some friends. Prior to his death, Tonton had escaped a gruesome car accident.
