Style Bible was abuzz last week with our Battle of the Abs poll gathering an amazing 18,000 votes in KC Concepcion’s corner. Gracing this month’s Cosmopolitan magazine, the singer is bikini-clad for the first time on a cover showing off that body she’s clocked in many hours to get. Her workout of choice? Plana Forma.
In reply to one Twitter follower commenting her for her amazing bod on February third, KC replied using her official account saying, “I work hard for it. @PlanaFORMA is still working with me on getting really fit ;).”
So what exactly is Plana Forma? The Manila version of the US-based Physique 57 technique, the workout blends yoga, pilates and dance for a 55-minutes class that gives you a full-body workout. According to their official site, Plana Forma “defines thighs, lifts seat, tones arms, and strengthens abdominals to create a lean and sculpted physique that is strong and efficiently mobile.” With students fondly called “Thigh Warriors,” the studio challenges regulars to partake in their 4x4 Challenge which calls for four classes a week for four consecutive weeks (a challenge that KC herself has done in the past).
On February 1, KC tweeted, “Our instructor Julie in @PlanaFORMA class said (about our workout) ‘When it gets tough, don't run away. Don't escape. Face it head on.’” Later in the month, KC enthused on about a rigorous three-hour workout, “Just finished my workout! What came over me?? (sic) 3 hours, 3 classes, back to back to back. OPEN class with teacher Berns, STRETCH & intense JAZZ class w/ teacher Julie! @PlanaFORMA.”
Recently, the Forma Asia studio started offering the popular Latin dance inspired workout Zumba, which it seems KC has also recently gotten hooked on. The singer tweeted last March 8, “Got to sneak in my @PlanaFORMA ZUMBA party!!! Super fun!!! Perfect for summer! Kulang nalang, beach!”
So the moral of the story girls? Nobody gets KC’s abs just by sitting around, so let’s all get off our seats and start sweating off the pounds!
