Actor Piolo Pascual admitted that he is saddened that his primetime series on ABS-CBN, "Dahil Sa Pag-Ibig," is about to end.
"I'm sad but, of course, it's another show that has ended and it's a blessing because nakatapos na naman tayo," Pascual told ABS-CBN News.
The actor said it was a big challenge for him to play the role of Alfred, a priest who fell in love with Jasmin Valderama (portrayed by Cristine Reyes) in the series.
Jasmin is the daughter of Leo Valderama (played by Christopher de Leon), who adopted Alfred when he was still young.
"We are a Catholic country and we are very conservative. We would like to explore more the darker side of priesthood, but it was hard to tackle because kailangang mag-ingat tayo sa paglalahad ng istorya," Pascual explained.
What made this task easier, he said, was working with top actors like de Leon and Jericho Rosales.
"Sobra akong inspired kay Tito Boyet (de Leon), 'yung respect niya sa artistry niya ay manghang- mangha ako. Masarap ding kasama si Echo kasi napaka giving... you know it's a team effort," Pascual said.
"Dahil sa Pag-Ibig' will air its final episode on Friday, June 29, after "Walang Hanggan" as part of ABS-CBN's primetime block.
