In the June 30 episode of Showbiz Inside Report, Ara Mina talked to host Janice de Belen about how she felt filing a case of libel and grave coercion against her sister Cristine Reyes because of text messages she received in relation to the house they bought for their mother. “Holy Week pa ito nangyari eh. Walaang nakakaalam, even media. And then dun na siya nag-freak out,” she recalled.
Ara Mina admitted that she did not personally confront her younger sister during that time. Hindi kami ganun ka-close,” she told Showbiz Inside Report.
The eldest of six children, Ara Mina admitted that she has been helping their parents with her siblings’ schooling when she started earning her own money after entering showbiz at the age of 14. Even my debut sabi ko ako na gagastos kasi nga humihina na yung business ng daddy ko nun so parang I wanted to help them. I’m happy helping them. Since kinder ako nagpa-aral kay Cristine. Wala akong regrets dun.
When she started receiving Cristine’s texts, Ara admitted she couldn’t help but be hurt by the nature of the messages.
Even after Cristine issued an apology on the June 23 episode of The Buzz, Ara Mina said she is not convinced her sister has learned her lesson. “Kasi I know her so well.
Although hurting, Ara Mina said she is definitely open to a reconciliation but she is still not taking back the case she has filed against Cristine. “I’m open if she’s willing talaga.
Ara Mina hopes that she and her family can rebuild their relationship with each other after all this is over. “Hindi ko alam. Panahon lang ang makakapagsabi. Nasasaktan din ako for her. Pero sana siya ang lumambot ang puso. Kasi matagal ng malambot ang puso ko,” she said.
