Daniel Padilla denies that he and Kathryn Bernardo are already mag-'M.U.'

After performing songs from the Love Songs from Princess and I album during their June 28 fans day at the SM North SkyDome, Daniel Padilla finally puts to rest speculations that he and Kathryn Bernardo already have a status of ‘M.U’ or mutual understanding with each other. The two teen stars have reportedly been getting closer by spending time together on and off the set of their hit Primetime Bida series. “Hindi naman. Close friends lang. Talagang special po siya, sobra. In the future siguro, huwag muna ngayon. Medyo hindi pa puwede eh. Kasi meron din kaing mga priorities na hindi namin puwede pangunahan,” he says. 

Although he has always been vocal about his admiration for Kathryn when they were first paired together in Growing Up, Daniel says he will not rush into things at this point in their respective careers. Fans of their show wil also still have to wait in anticipation whether Mikay will choose to end up with Gino as there are still a lot of exciting things that will happen in Princess and I. “Ano lang, steady lang talaga. Hindi naman talaga pursigido na agad-agad na. Steady lang ngayon sa career at sa amin. Hindi naman puwedeng agad na kami kasi meron ding gusto sa akin, kay Khalil at kay Enrique kaya hindi puwedeng ganun, masisira ang mga loveteam,” he shares. 

 

With his other co-stars Enrique Gil and Khalil Ramos, Daniel denies that there is any bad rivalry between them on and off-cam as well. “Wala po. Ayoko tingnan ng ganun kasi magkakapatid  kami lahat dito. Hindi namin iniisip na kasi nga magkakapatid kami dito at lahat kami magkakaibigan,” he stresses. 

Daniel adds that fans of the show definitely have a lot to watch out for in the coming weeks with each episode. “Abangan niyo talaga, kahit ako nung binabasa ko yung script, ano na eh, talagang solid yung mga scene at yung story namin grabe, kakaiba yung ng mga twist ng story na ito. Nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat ng sumusuporta sa amin. Ginagalingan na lang namin sa trabaho naming,” he says. Daniel shares that his character Gino will sacrifice a lot for the sake of love. “Gagawin ni Gino lahat, kahit ngayon tingnan niyo medyo  nagiging skwa-kwa na si Gino (laughs). Lahat gagawin ko para kay Mikay.”
