Aside from being part of Star Magic’s 20th year anniversary celebration this year, Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 winner Marcelito Pomoy said that he has been lucky to get the chance to fulfill his dream of performing with some of the Kapamilya network’s best singers as well. The 27-year-old Caviteno counted Martin Nievera and Sarah Geronimo as his dream duets even before he joined PGT.
“Marami akong gustong maka-duet eh, dati si Martin Nievera tapos si Sarah Geronimo at marami pa, pero nakasama ko na sila. Siyempre sobrang saya ko dahil hindi ko inexpect na maka-duet yung mga professional na gaya nila. Masayang masaya ako. Siguro ngayon naman, pangarap ko makasama si Zsa Zsa Padilla naman, magaling kasi siya kumanta. Gusto ko rin siya maka-duet din balang araw,” he admitted to Push.com.ph.
Marcelito also admitted that it was hard not to be overwhelmed during Star Magic’s celebration on ASAP where a lot of former talents came to perform or be part of the presentation. “Siyempre sobrang saya ko kasi hindi ko inexpect na aabot ako sa ganitong celebration gaya ng 20th anniversary ng Star Magic. Siyempre malaki ang pasasalamat ko sa Star Magic dahil sila yung humahawak sa akin. Hindi ko nga inexpect eh na makakasama ko sila kasi yung mga datihan din andun so sobrang saya kasi nakaka-bonding ko na yung mga nakikita ko lang sa TV dati. Pero ngayon nakakasama ko na sila,” he said.
After celebrating his first anniversary in the industry last June 26, Marcelito said that there have definitely been a lot of changes in his life and he has learned to adapt with the challenges that go with being in the limelight.
“Maraming nagbago. Simula nung nanalo ako, maraming nagbago sa buhay ko katulad ng pakikisama sa mga tao, dito sa ABS-CBN, sa mga fans kung paano maki-jamming, mahirap din kasi kung magiging suplado ka, yun ang pinakamahirap,” he shared.
Marcelito said that contrary to what people think, he is a laidback kind of guy. “Ang akala kasi nila seryoso ako pero palabiro ako sa totoong buhay (laughs). Trip ko gawin minsan pag walang trabaho, nag-pra-practice ako ng pagkanta tapos minsan naglalaro ng hockey or minsan basketball.” he added.
Aside from his weekly performances on ASAP, Marcelito is also busy doing shows in and around the city along with other Star Magic artists. The Pilipinas Got Talent discovery said he is very thankful for those who have supported his career even after PGT. “Sa lahat ng mga fans ko at mga nanunuod sa akin at sumuporta sa akin, sana huwag kayong magsawang sumuporta, lalong-lalo na ngayon ang humawak sa akin ay Star Magic. Nagpapasalamat ako kasi napakabait nilang mag-alaga sa akin,” he said.
