Despite their recent falling out, actor Gerald Anderson and Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo gathered their fans on Wednesday to thank them for their support through the highs and lows of their on- and off-screen tandem.
Their blooming relationship may have come to an end, but Anderson and Geronimo, endearingly called "Ashrald" by their fans, welcomed their supporters to a "group date" sponsored by a fast food chain they endorse.
"Masaya kami na naka-bonding namin 'yung mga sumusuporta samin. Nabigyan kami ng chance na ma-meet sila, at makita 'yung mga ngiti sa mukha nila," Geronimo said.
Evasive of questions on their relationship, the "Budoy" star and the actress-singer opted to focus attention on their fans, who sported t-shirts bearing the print "I went on a date with Ashrald."
"Date talaga ito," Anderson said of his reunion with Geronimo, adding, "Kasama sila, group date!"
The reunion was full of laughter and teasing as if nothing happened between the two stars.
Geronimo was even caught on camera touching Anderson's shoulder.
When teased about it, the two just said, "Ang sweet namin," laughing.
'Right man'
In recent weeks, reports surfaced that Anderson has decided to stop courting Geronimo, for whom he has expressed admiration since their first film together under Star Cinema, "Catch Me, I'm In Love," in 2011.
The young actor, who formally started courting Geronimo in February, was speculated to have been discouraged by Geronimo's parents, who are known to be protective of their daughter when it comes to her relationships.
The 24-year-old singer, however, recently doused speculations that it was her mother, Divine, who had asked Anderson to stop wooing her.
"Sa totoo lang po hindi mommy ko ang nagpatigil kay Gerald na manligaw talaga. So, wala, hindi si mommy," Geronimo said during an episode of her concert variety program "Sarah G Live."
In the same episode, Divine told her daughter that God will eventually lead her to the right man, prompting Geronimo to turn emotional.
