After "Kimerald" and "Ashrald," actor Gerald Anderson is thrilled to be paired with a new leading lady for his return to primetime television.
"Napakagaling niyang artista," Anderson told Push.com.ph, referring to actress Cristine Reyes, his latest onscreen partner after Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo.
"Excited ako kasi ibang chemistry naman ang pwede namin i-offer sa tao. Hindi pa kami nag-umpisa mag-taping. But it’s a new partnership na dapat abangan ng tao," he added.
Anderson's statement comes as a confirmation of earlier reports on the new tandem. On Friday, actress Diana Zubiri, who had just signed a contract with ABS-CBN, also confirmed that he will star alongside Reyes and the "Budoy" star in the upcoming series.
The Kapamilya actor has nothing but good words for his latest "love team," whose own series was aired alongside his for a time during ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida block.
"Familiar ako sa teleseryes niya. 'Yung sa kanila ni Piolo Pascual ('Dahil Sa Pag-ibig') at syempre 'yung 'Kristine' series," said Anderson, whose project with Reyes will be his first with the controversial actress.
Supportive Rayver
According to the Kapamilya heartthrob, Reyes' current boyfriend, actor-dancer Rayver Cruz, has expressed approval of the new tandem.
"Si Rayver very supportive, alam niyo naman 'yun, best friend ko 'yan e. Actually isa siya sa mga excited para sa amin," Anderson said.
In 2010, Cruz was romantically involved with Geronimo, who Anderson also formally courted for a time. In August, Geronimo's parents confirmed that Anderson had stopped his efforts to woo their daughter, citing their “rules" which may have discouraged the young actor.
Prior to their aborted romance, the two starred in two films in 2011, "Catch Me, I'm In Love" and "Won't Last A Day Without You."
Now with a new project in the works, this time with a new leading lady, Anderson expressed excitement over finally resuming work as an actor.
"Miss ko na rin magtaping pero siyempre ayoko rin madaliin. Medyo [action]. Nailatag na sa akin pero syempre pinaplano pa. Kailangan paghandaan. Sana maging magandang follow up after 'Budoy,'" he said.
