Love team Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla are still taking things “nice and slow.”
The stars of “Princess and I”, or Kathniel to fans, agree they can’t take their friendship to the next level yet because they are still too young for romance.
“Iyon naman ang best gawin ngayon, parang chill lang. Basta very tight yung relationship namin ngayon as friends. Isa siya sa mga super na napagkakatiwalaan ko,” Kathryn told Yahoo! Philippines OMG and some members of the press at the 6th Star Magic Ball, where she came with Daniel.
“Nice and slow,” Daniel added.
The two were a picture of a sweet couple at the ball and even bagged the “Breakout Style” award that night.
Daniel has always been very vocal and consistent about his admiration and intentions for Kathryn. And she appreciates it.
“Hindi siya tumitingin sa iba. Basta desidido siya and very faithful,” Kathryn added.
Although many she and Daniel would end up together, Kathryn said they can only offer their onscreen partnership and friendship for now.
When will they take their relationship to the next level?
Complicated
“It’s complicated. Magulo po, bawal. Magulo po ngayon dahil bata pa po kami,” Daniel said in a separate interview with “The Buzz” on Sunday, September 2.
Kathryn and Daniel first worked together in “Growing Up,” but they became closer while working on “Princess and I.” Kathryn said in an interview that she did not expect her tandem with Daniel would click because they are both moreno and morena.
“Masaya kasi hindi ko rin inexpect na magiging successful ang “Princess and I.” Nakakatuwa na sinuportahan nila ako after “Mara Clara,” and of course with DJ (Daniel’s nickname), Enrique (Gil) and Khalil (Ramos),” she said.
Now that they are celebrating their first anniversary as a love team, Kathryn said she will always support Daniel even if they are paired with someone else in the future.
“Kahit paghiwalayin kami, andito pa rin ako as a friend para kay DJ. Kahit anong mangyari basta lagi lang ako andito, kung may problema siya. At hindi ko siya makakalimutan.”
