Kathryn Bernardo said she sees this as positive news and said in an interview last Sunday (September 9) that she feels happy that their hard work is paying off. “Pa-intense pa rin nang pa-intense ‘yung mga eksena, mapa-promise namin sa inyo na [this] week siguro intense na ‘yung mga scenes, ‘yung mga inaabangan nating lahat. Maraming maraming salamat sa pagsuporta,” she beamed.
While their show has snatched the top spot from Walang Hanggan on certain days as shown by the data, Kathryn still does not want to rest on her laurels. “Hangga’t hindi pa natatapos ‘yung show hindi pa talaga ako makakahinga eh. Andun pa rin [‘yung pressure] pero siguro masyado na ring na-lessen ‘yon [ngayon],” she explained.
While Walang Hanggan has held the the top spot longer, the latest feat of Princess And I is said to have placed Kathryn on equal footing with friend Julia Montes, who also top-bills Walang Hanggan. Ever since the two have been given separate projects, the media have continued to pit the two actresses against each other, although both refuse to give in to this pressure.
“Maganda masarap pakinggan kasi kahit magkahiwalay kami, sinusuportahan kami and ‘yung sa ratings ng Walang Hanggan and Princess And I [ang taas] talaga. Thankful kami kasi sinuportahan kami kahit magkahiwalay and ‘yun ever since naman wala naman kaming kompetisyon. Sinusuportahan nga namin ‘yung projects ng isa’t-isa,” Kathryn replied.
She also confirmed that their relationship has just gotten stronger and revealed that after the interview, she and Julia were to go out with other friends to bond. “Isa siya sa mga malapit na kaibigan ko,” Kathryn said. Given the chance, Kathryn said that she would like to work with Julia again. “Kung mabibigyan ng chance, gusto ko po talaga,” she affirmed.
She continued, “At saka I’m sure marami akong matutunan kay Julia. Matututo kami sa isa’t-isa atsaka mas komportable ako pag siya ang ka-eksena kasi kilala ko na siya.”
