Evidently glowing and very much in love, Angelica Panganiban didn't think this "kind of happiness" is even possible -- until now.
"I'm so happy to say na nasa 'kin lahat at naniniwala ako na deserve ko 'to," Panganiban told reporters at the sidelines of the fourth anniversary concert program of the ABS-CBN gag show "Banana Split," when asked what she has learned from her previous "heartbreaks."
"Hindi ko ine-expect na nag-e-exist 'yung ganitong klaseng happiness," she added.
For the 25-year-old Kapamilya star, who is reportedly in a relationship with actor John Lloyd Cruz, finding this "very high school" inspiration took careful discernment as to the "kind of love" she deserved.
"Tamang naa-appreciate mo 'yung sarili mo muna, para alam mo kung ano 'yung tamang happiness, 'yung tamang pagmamahal na deserve mo," said Panganiban, whose last known relationship was with actor-host Derek Ramsay, her boyfriend of six years.
The two confirmed their separation in May this year amid rumors linking Panganiban to Cruz.
"Ngayon mas naa-appreciate ko 'yung sarili ko," the former child star said. "Mas kinilala ko siya, mas na-gets ko kung ano 'yung mga deserve ko, so parang nakukuha ko lang kung ano 'yung deserve ko."
"May mga tao kasing natatakot na after a relationship, hindi na nila kayang magtiwala, hindi na nila kayang maniwala sa relationship and sa love ... Ako, meron akong lakas ng loob na tanggapin ulit 'yung pagmamahal, 'yung hope and 'yung relationship na i-offer ng ibang tao," Panganiban added.
'Very high school'
Although neither Cruz nor Panganiban have gone on record confirming their relationship -- this, even after they left hand-in-hand at last month's Star Magic Ball -- Panganiban could not help but express her joy from her current "inspiration."
"Inspired [ako] nang sobra. Lagi namang inspired, pero syempre may dagdag na factor 'yung dala nung kilig na naidadala sa'yo everyday," Panganiban said, when asked on her state of being when in love.
"Mas ginaganahan kang gumising, mas nae-excite ka, baka may nabasa kang text. Very high school, very bagets," she added, laughing.
Looking forward, the lead star of "Apoy sa Dagat" -- her latest Kapamilya epic-serye co-starring Piolo Pascual -- said she can only hope that her new source of happiness, unlike her previous relationship, won't be doomed for failure.
"Hindi ko pwedeng paniwalaan na mas matalino ako [ngayon pagdating sa pag-ibig]," she said. "Nakakatakot 'yung term na 'yun ('wiser'), kasi baka mamaya one of these days magsalita ako na failure na naman, 'di ba?"
"So ang masasabi ko lang -- hope, 'yun 'yung meron ako, and positivity," she added.
