The actor refused to comment on the rumor that he was the reason why the Pop Princess' longtime stylist and makeup artist were fired, saying that there's no reason to talk about it.
In the October issue of YES! Magazine, it was reported that Sarah Geronimo’s mom, who is more known as Mommy Divine, had fired the Pop Princess’ longtime stylist Eric Pe Benito and her makeup artist Jing Monis because they supposedly sided with actor Gerald Anderson, who had courted Sarah for a few months.
Sarah had defended her mother, saying that the issue was just a misunderstanding that was blown out of proportion. However, Gerald refused to divulge information when he was interviewed on the Sunday talk show The Buzz about the issue.
“Ayaw ko na pong pag-usapan iyon kasi ayon, lumabas naman,” he was quoted as saying in an article on ABS-CBNNews.com. There’s no reason para pag-usapan pa iyon (I don’t want to talk about it anymore because I didn’t want it to be a big deal again. It’s up to you, and to those who read it. Let’s not stretch this issue further. Let’s stop this, I don’t want to talk about it anymore… there’s no reason to discuss it.).”
However, entertainment writer Ogie Diaz, who had revealed the information to the magazine, said that he only shared what he knew because he was concerned for Sarah’s well-being.
I’m doing this for the sake of Sarah Geronimo and not to destroy her mom’s reputation as I’m also a parent. I want Sarah Geronimo’s mommy to give her freedom. I know I’m not the mother of Sarah Geronimo, but I think Sarah Geronimo won’t waste her mom’s trust.)."
