During the recent benefit concert of Star Magic, Xian Lim was asked about his reaction to Gerald Anderson’s statement that he’s not closing his doors on the possibility of a rekindled romance with Kim Chiu in the future. To which Xian replied, “Di ba ako rin naman, sa buhay ko naman, tama yung quote na ‘yan e. We don’t close any doors to anything. Masama magsalita ng tapos. Because in the future ‘pag sinarado mo yung door, parang you're limiting yourself.”
The Ina Kapatid Anak star maintained that he wasn’t threatened at all with the Kimerald team-up in the movie 24/7 In Love. “No. Wala naman. Lagi ko naman sinasabi na it’s a big event for Star Magic. I’m happy for Star Magic. Lahat nagsama-sama for that movie and it’s very successful.” He was also very supportive of the Kimerald fans who were delighted about the project. “Congratulations sa kanila. Congratulations na happy sila. All we want is for people to be happy.”
He was also quick to assure Push.com.ph and other entertainment media that there’s no awkwardness between him and Gerald. “Pero me and Gerald, we're friends. Wala kaming [issue] ni Gerald. We’re good friends. Sabay nga kami nag skydiving. Sila nga nag-push sa akin e [na i-try yung activity na yun],” referring to their side trip during Star Magic’s U.S. tour early in November.
When told that Kim obviously maintains a certain distance with Gerald at media events, Xian cheerfully said, “Wow! Nako, si Kim na yun. Hindi ko alam yung mga ganon e. But I’m happy for them, I’m happy for their fans, that’s all we want. No [hindi ako na-threaten] kasi ‘pag magkasama kami [ni Kim] we do stuff together. Parang sa States magkasama kami sa activities.”
Does Kim assure him that he’s still the one closest to his heart? “Wala naman ganon. Siyempre nakakahiya naman kung tatanungin ko sila. Hindi ko na tatahakin ‘yan.”
As it is, Xian’s just happy with the positive feedback about his chemistry with Kim on and off cam. “Ikaw nagsabi niyan ah [na mas bagay kami]. [Pagdating naman sa chemistry], ngayon nagworkshop kami and I found out a lot of things about her. Dun pa rin bumabagsak e, sa trust, yung comfortability namin with each other. Sa My Only Hope na first soap ko hanggang ngayon na ongoing soap, siya pa rin yung [kasama ko]. Merong special trust [between us].”
He added that Kim always helps him improve as an actor. “Kapag magkaeksena kami hindi niya ako pinapabayaan. ‘Xian try mo ‘to.’ Hindi naman siya nagiging bossy. Na-appreciate ko kasi hindi siya parang cold [sa akin].”
At the end of the interview, Xian did not forget to thank all the viewers who never fail to promote Ina Kapatid Anak through the social media. “Nakakatuwa. Thanks sa lahat, sa tweets, sa status nila. Nakikita ko tuwang-tuwa sila just to see the story unfold. Talagang tutok sila,” he finally stated.
