Charice Pempengco, Nanalo sa Nickelodeon's 2012 Kids' Choice Awards.

MANILA, Philippines - Fans all over the world gave singing sensation Charice Pempengco an overwhelming vote in the new category of Favorite Asian Act at the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.

Charice bested the South Korean girl group Wonder Girls, Indonesia’s Agnes Monica, and Malaysia’s Yuna.

Based on figures released by Nickolodeon Asia, Charice dominated both the online and text votes but lost to Agnes Monica in the Twitter votes.

The pint-sized Filipina garnered 64 percent of the overall vote (6,001,730) against 27 percent (2,486,038) for K-Pop superstars Wonder Girls.

Curiously, Agnes Monica edged out Charice on the Twitter poll (90,000 against 65,000).

The victory was not unexpected given Charice’s profile as an international star championed by American talk show hosts Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah Winfrey.

On Monday, she tweeted “yey! we won!!!#NickKCA” and included a photo of herself holding the Nickelodeon orange blimp trophy.

She thanked her fans, collectively known as “Chasters,” for casting massive votes throughout the voting period, from Feb. 24 to March 31.

The Kids Choice Awards, held Sunday in Los Angeles, will air on Nickelodeon Philippines on April 14 at 10 a.m.
