MANILA, Philippines – Actor-host Luis Manzano maintained that he and current girlfriend actress Jennylyn Mercado won’t be hearing wedding bells anytime soon.
Manzano said Alex Jazz, Mercado’s son with actor Patrick Garcia, is still the actress’ top priority, and not marriage.
“Long way to go. Ang priority niya is work at saka siyempre, ang family niya, dahil she has a son,” Manzano said in an interview promoting his latest film “Moron 5 and the Crying Lady.” “In terms of priority, any time of the day, mas importante ang anak niya kaysa sa ‘kin.”
“So ‘pag feeling niya nagawa na niya ‘yung mga responsibilidad niya bilang ina, siguro that’s the time na pwede nang pag-usapan ‘yun (marriage),” he added. “Kahit naman ako, I believe ang dami ko ring kailangan gawin sa buhay ko. So, ‘yun muna.”
When asked if he has gotten closer to Jazz because of his relationship with Mercado, Manzano chose to keep mum out of respect to the boy’s parents.
“Okay naman [kami ni Jazz], pero siyempre ‘pag si Jazz na ang usapan, I’d rather leave that sa parents niya. Kumbaga respeto k okay Jen at kay Pat,” he said. “Ayoko naman magdadada tungkol kay Jazz, may mga magulang ang bata.”
