Kim Chiu refused to believe other people’s opinion that Xian Lim merely used their team-up to leverage his showbiz career. She’s sensible enough to admit that it takes two to make a love team work. “Hindi naman siguro. Wala naman ako ginawa sa kanya, wala rin naman siyang ginawa sa akin. Nagtrabaho lang naman kami. Siguro naman, deserving siya kung nasaan siya ngayon dahil sa talent niya at sa ipinapakita niya sa tao,” she told ABS-CBN reporters during her recent birthday charity event.
She added that it’s no big surprise if girls would go crazy over Xian given his good looks coupled with his talent in singing and acting. “Maayos naman itsura niya. Siguro nga marami nagkakagusto sa kanya. Wala naman akong say dun. Talented naman yung tao. Unfair naman yung word na gamitan, parang hindi naman siguro,” she reiterated.
As for Xian’s bashers, Kim explained that there’s no way around it but to accept that celebrities can’t please everyone. The key is to respect each other’s opinion. “Hindi ko naman pakiusap. Nasa kanila (fans or viewers) naman yun e. Free naman sila sabihin kahit anong gusto nilang sabihin. Nasa amin (celebrities) naman yun kung gusto namin basahin, kung gusto namin dibdibin. Wala lang. Artista kasi kami so napapanood nila kami. Pwede silang mag-comment kahit anong gusto nila i-comment.”
Would she rather go solo or be part of a love team? “Depende sa project. Kahit ano namang ibigay sa akin open naman ako.”
Although they’re currently busy with their respective work commitments, Kim shared that she and Xian still keep in touch. “Okay naman kami. Nag-communicate kami, nagtatawagan, nagkaka-text, minsan lumalabas. Yeah, we're friends. We’re true friends.” Asked if they were able to visit some tourist destinations during the recent Star Magic tour, Kim related that she met a lot of Kim-Xian supporters. “Nung nag-Hawaii kami, namasyal kami ng konti dun. Madaming KimXi fans ang nagbigay ng regalo so nakakatuwa. Nagpapasalamat kami na hanggang dun may mga fans.”
Kim admitted that has yet to receive a birthday gift from Xian, but she was quick to say that she would appreciate any gift from him. “Hindi ako masyado sa materyal na bagay. It’s the thought that counts, yun nga ang kasabihan. Wala sa aking yung mga rega-regalo.”
Kim, you did the right thing, not to judge about their opinion, everyone has that right, and to defend Xian is is your right also as a close or good friend and colleague. I believed that Xian is honest, humble and a very gentleman as he talk and acts. Kim, Xian is the right person that you've been waiting for. Go for what your heart dictates. Take my word.
