MANILA, Philippines – Actress Angel Locsin intends to stay in the world of show business for a very long time.
In an exclusive interview with Maven Magazine in its June-July issue, Locsin said she has learned to love the entertainment industry such that she has already considered growing old in it.
“Sa akin kapag minahal mo 'yung trabaho mo, hahanap-hanapin mo iyan. As of now, wala akong ma-imagine na trabaho except itong ginagawa ko,” she said.
The "Toda Max" star, however, revealed that joining showbiz wasn’t really part of her plan. When she was 17, Locsin said she accepted a role in the youth-oriented show “Click” just to help her family.
“Pito kasi kami. Lahat ng ginagawa ko, for my family talaga,” she explained.
But eventually she discovered that acting is something she’s passionate about.
Proof to this is her numerous recognitions as an actress – the most recent one from the PMPC Star Awards for Movies where she was named the Movie Actress of the Year for her performance in “In The Name of Love.”
Now that she has already pulled her family from their financial woes, Locsin said she is also trying to invest in other things as her “safety nets.”
“Ang swerte ko sa pamilya kasi nakasuporta talaga sila. Hindi sila maluho, hindi sila nagte-take advantage,” she said.
“Dahil isa akong babae, darating rin 'yung araw na makakapag-asawa ako. Sa oras na iyon, ang priority ko siyemore ay asawa at anak ko,” she added.
Asked if she thinks she’s already an accomplished actress, Locsin said: “Nahiya ako sa mga veterans kasi wala pa ako sa kalingkingan nila. Pero siyempre very proud ako sa mga na-achieve ko lalo na’t pinaghirapan ko talaga – from scheduling to characterization – lahat,” she said.
