Karylle on Yael Yuzon: ‘I don’t think naman we’re hiding anything’

Although they’ve been romantically linked to each other since last year, this month’s Metro magazine cover girl Karylle is still elusive when it comes to details about the real status of her relationship with Yael Yuzon. “Hindi naman exactly private, madami pa rin naman akong shini-share pero hindi over share. For me kasi it’s hard to over share but I don’t think naman we’re hiding anything. Siguro maingat lang kami sa pag-share but yun nga, we’re okay. Para wala lang, parang mas okay eh. Parang for now it’s working this way. Pero pinapakita namin sa kanta. Maybe we’re romantic like that, maybe we’re sentimental like that, maybe we’re too cheesy like that. If we could share our words, baka mandiri kayo sa pagka-cheesy,” she said.

The 31-year-old actress said she is happy with her life right now and is glad that the media has not been overly pushy for details regarding her current relationship. “I actually am very thankful kasi everyone that I come across has been very kind. Siguro nakita rin nila when I was at my worst, totoo so parang tingin ko may awa factor din and understanding factor yung mga friends natin from the media so thank you very much for understanding. Minsan alam ko gets niyo naman eh,” she admitted.

The singer-actress admitted that Yael has become very close to her and her family. Apart from showing support for Karylle at the hospital where her Tito Dolphy has been confined, Yael also visited her abroad last year when she was shooting The Kitchen Musical in Singapore. “Si Yael kasi is very much like my other best friend si Dianne. And when they met each other they were like so shocked kasi they couldn’t stop talking to each other as well. Yung sa sobrang daldal and sobrang talino, minsan hindi ko sila naiintindihan pero I love the enthusiasm and the passion for all these things,” she shared.

Karylle also admitted that she and Yael also went on a group date with Christian Bautista and his Singaporean girlfriend Carla Dunareanu. “I think nakapag-dinner kami once here in Manila. Hindi ko alam kung naulit na ba. Pero try naming mag-set up ng dinner with everyone from Kitchen Musical pero hindi namin maayos yung sched,” she said.

The talented Kitchen Musical star also said that Yael has also spent time with her entire family including her dad and siblings. “Okay naman sila ng dad ko. It’s hard to say kasi if guys are close or how to describe a relationship na ganun. Okay naman sila ng sisters ko. Ayun ang madaldal. They have their own little topics that they talk about with my sisters. Parang pag-nag-uusap usap sila, hindi ako maka-relate or hindi ko naiintindihan yung pinaguusapan nila. Sila ng mom ko meron silang sariling bonding, they talk about movies and TV shows that they like na usually are the same,” she said during the Metro magazine presscon at the Napa restaurant in Quezon City last June 29.

For her first cover pictorial for Metro magazine’s Big Beauty Issue, Karylle admitted was a wonderful experience. “Actually I really love the photos, especially yung sa loob ng magazine. Kasi ever since siguro sinabi ni Vice (Ganda) na Binibining Curvesa, gusto ko yung binibining Curvesa eh may mga shot dito na puro curves (laughs). Kasi siyempre as a woman in today’s world, we don’t want to make people feel like they have to be stick thin to be sexy. I like the fact that you can feel sexy with your curves,” she said.
