Daniel Padilla recalls brawl with schoolmate over mom

In an interview with entertainment magazine StarStudio, the Kapamilya heartthrob said he once got into a fight with a schoolmate who made disparaging remarks about his mother, former sexy actress Karla Estrada.

"Sinabi niya (schoolmate) bigla na malandi ang nanay ko, kasi iba-iba ang tatay naming makakapatid," Padilla told StarStudio in its August 2012 issue.

The teen actor is Estrada's son with actor Romel Padilla. His younger brother, JC, meanwhile, is Estrada's son with musician Naldy Padilla.

After niya sabihin 'yun, parang nagka-World War III noon eh," Padilla said.

The 17-year-old actor recalled that he hurled an armchair made of metal and wood at the other boy before throwing punches at him.

He was in 5th grade at the time.

The principal personally had to halt the brawl between the two boys as their fellow students could not appease him, the young actor recalled.

Gugulphin talaga kita. Bumaliktad nga yata 'yung mukha nung lalaking 'yun eh," he added.

Padilla said the principal tried to reason with him but he wasn't easily convinced.

Kapag gingawa sa nanay mo 'yun, tatalikod ka nalang?" he said.

Even in his portrayals on-screen, the young actor's "bad boy" demeanor shines through.

Aside from playing Gino in the top-rating series "Princess and I," Padilla is set to portray the young Ongkoy Parojinog, the character of his uncle Robin Padilla, in an upcoming action flick with the working title "Kuratong Baleleng."
