Amid intrigues involving his past relationship, actor Derek Ramsay remains in high spirits after having covered the recent London Olympics, where he had "five seconds" with his "crush."
Tables were turned as correspondent Ramsay became an interviewer of Olympic "celebrities" in London.
"It's not easy to get the attention of the athletes. Of course their focus is there. Tulakan to get an interview with the athletes," Ramsay told ABS-CBN News on Wednesday.
Usually the one who answers the questions, Ramsay fielded his own to an athlete, his "crush," who participated in the Olympic games.
"It was definitely the first time. Things were reversed," Ramsay said. "I was able to interview a crush of mine. Super, I was like speechless for about five seconds. I just called her name, 'Sue!'"
A professional women's basketball player, Sue Bird was among the delegates of the United States to the London Olympics.
"She was such a nice person, she just came up, and she walked up to me, and I asked a few questions," Ramsay said, adding in jest, "We did not have a chance to have Olympic babies. We had a moment, five seconds, but no Olympic babies."
Ramsay's light-hearted recollection of his Olympic experience comes amid reports of a blooming romance between his former girlfriend actress Angelica Panganiban and actor John Lloyd Cruz.
Despite his breakup with Panganiban, Ramsay maintained that he remains in good terms with the Kapamilya actress.
