When told about Bianca Manalo's drastic haircut, John Prats refused to believe that it was their breakup that prompted her to change her look (just like KC Concepcion's edgy bob hairstyle after her breakup with Piolo Pascual last year). "Ang huling alam ko nung kami pa ni Bianx, plano niya talaga magpaiksi because of a hair endorsement na kailangan mahaba, tapos after a few months iiklian talaga. Yun naman ang alam ko. Hindi ko naman inisip na ganon," said John in an interview with Hot Pinoy Showbiz. "Basta wini-wish ko sa kanya happiness."
John admitted that there was a time that he really felt bad about his failed relationships. But one thing he has learned is to never lose hope that he would one day meet the right girl for him. "Sa lahat ng relasyon na pinagdaanan ko, minsan dumating ako sa sobrang failure, down na down ako kasi I had so many relationships but it didn't work. So I felt bad before. Ang iniisip ko na lang ngayon hindi ko pa nakikilala yung para sa akin, yung talagang swak kami, walang hang ups, walang stress. Mas masaya ako na ganito. Kung dumating, okay, pero kung hindi, okay lang din."
The actor-host further shared that one of the perks of being single is that he'd be able to do whatever he wants without answering to anybody. People couldn't help but notice that he really looks happy hanging out with his family and friends as seen in the photos that he share online. "Siguro ganon talaga ako as a person. Nae-enjoy ko yung maliliit na bagay like spending time with my family, magpicture with friends... Sobra ko lang saya. Ngayon ko lang na-enjoy yung pagiging single, nagagawa ko kung anong gusto kong gawin ng wala akong ibang iisipin kundi sarili kong schedule."
At the same time, he feels blessed with all the positive feedback that he gets from playing Paeng in Angelito: Ang Bagong Yugto. It's been four years since he was last given an acting stint. And he's really grateful that the viewers love his team-up with Kaye Abad in the said afternoon drama. "Sinasabi ko nga kay Sam Milby (one of his closest friends) na sobrang blessed ako kasi after 20 years I'm still here [in the industry]. Hindi naman lahat ng artista nabibiyayaan ng ganito katagal na time and yet nagagawa mo yung gusto mo at successful yung mga proyekto mo. Siguro ang sikreto dun mahalin mo yung ginagawa mo at mga fans mo. Kasi nagtratrabaho ako para sa kanila, sila yung inspirasyon ko, yung mga sumusuporta sa akin. Nakakataba ng puso na na-e-entertain sila sa ginagawa mo."
Is he ready to go back to the dating scene? "Ngayon wala akong dinedate e. Bukod kay Camille (Prats), kay Sam at sa aso ko, siguro na-e-enjoy ko yung time sa sarili ko."
