Maxene Magalona Sumakay sa MRT

Like the millions of commuters in the country, Kapuso actress Maxene Magalona can attest to the conveniences and certain “benefits” of riding the MRT.

Aside from being able to talk to her 800,000 fans on Twitter while aboard the train, Magalona had a grand time rubbing elbows with people when she took the ride after her car broke down.

Commuters and curious bystanders hounded her for photos and greetings which Magalona graciously granted as soon as she stepped on the ledge to wait for the MRT southbound.

In a video reposted by the host-actress from one of her Twitter followers on Tuesday, Magalona was offered a seat by one of the commuters. Minutes later, she fished her makeup kit from her bag and started retouching her face, saying, "Maganda pala ritong mag-makeup, may natural light. May araw [at] hindi mo na kailangan ang lights.”

The late Master Rapper Francis Magalona’s daughter even took the time to promote her afternoon soap when the train passed by the GMA headquarters in Timog. “Oh GMA oh, nood kayong GMA ah ‘Faithfully,’” she blurted.

Magalona joined other celebs who have dazzled the commuters while riding the MRT. Setting the trend last year was Kapamilya actress Anne Curtis who has taken the train thrice. The first time was April last year when her fans, via Twitter,  advised her to take the MRT in order to reach the Araneta Coliseum in time for the Kylie Minogue concert. Curtis then rode the MRT a second time August last year with her younger sister Jasmine Curtis Smith to rush to her noontime show  “Showtime.” Her third and most recent solo trip via the MRT was just last April which she did again to reach her ABS-CBN noontime show.

Next came Piolo Pascual and Angelica Panganiban, who, last May 15, astounded their fans inside a packed LRT and MRT to promote their romantic-comedy film “Every Breath You Take.”
