Xian Lim shares tips on how to achieve a celebrity-worthy body

Standing over six feet tall coupled with his great physique, it’s no wonder why Xian Lim is one of most bankable actors to date. But looking back to his life before show business, he shared that he’s like any ordinary kid who struggled with weight issues. And it took hard work and discipline for him to keep fit. “I was around 180 pounds when I was around 12 years old.  When I became a teenager dun na pumasok yung sports, [physical] activities. Kasi nung maliit pa ako I was more of a watch-cartoons-type of kid,” he said in The Buzz Magasin’s Celebrity Forum this August.

Xian further shared that he doesn’t have any special diet or workout exercises. For him, the key is to eat in moderation and to know the most effective weight-loss program for those who are aiming for a celebrity-worthy body. “At first, I was always listening to other people. It won't do you harm. But what works for one person doesn’t mean it's going to work for you. Kailangan din pagaralan mo yung sarili mo. Ang pinaka ok na advice na maibibigay ko ay don’t deprive yourself. Do proper exercise.  Eat the right amount of carbs, protein and sugar. Kasi we tend to overeat, yung siguro yung pinaka-challenge, yung disiplina sa sarili.”

The star of The Reunion refused to disclose though his current weight or body measurement for that matter. “I don’t go by weight. I go by measurements. Kasi if you go by weight, para sa akin lang, you’re counting the water [content in your body] din. But if you go by measurements, you can actually measure if you gain weight in certain areas.”

He also stressed the importance of patience when it comes to shedding off pounds since it’s not something that can be done overnight. “Wala akong time minsan to go to the gym kasi ‘di maiwasan puro taping. So nung nangyari ‘yan, I felt na back to zero ako. So start baby steps. Choose the kind of workout that you want, depende kung gaano ka-active mo gusto. Halimbawa, gym, then increase the intensity kung saan ka comfortable, kumuha ka ng trainer. Hanggang sa pag na-bore ka sa gym you can run after. Just keep an active lifestyle.”
