Aiza Seguerra on rumored girlfriend Krizza Neri We're happy

In her twenty five years in show business, singer-actress Aiza Seguerra shared that there were three turning points in her career: when she joined Eat Bulaga’s Little Miss Philippines (1987), when she released her hit single “Pagdating Ng Panahon” (2001), and when she realized that she really wanted to make it as a musician.

Admittedly, things might have turned out differently if she had grown taller or turned out to be the “beauty-queen material that people saw me grow up on TV expected me to be.” But the former child star said that she has come to terms with whatever frustrations or insecurities she might have had in the past.Hindi ako yung tipo ng tao na nagdwe-dwell sa past at sa frustrations. Unang-una, hindi ko inexpect na magiging artista ako. Hindi naman ako galing sa family ng mga artista, tapos until now nandito pa rin ako sa business. There's so much to be thankful for kaya hindi ko na iniisip yung mga bagay na hindi ko nagawa,” she said during the press con for her 25th anniversary concert, Bente Singko, held last Tuesday, September 25.

Although she’s a newbie when it comes to songwriting, Aiza has come up with a song that actually topped the music charts, “Di Lang Ikaw” performed by Juris. “I haven’t done a lot. Siguro sa mga nasulat ko isa lang ang masasabi ko na gusto ko, yung kay Juris. I really can’t say na isa akong songwriter. Sa totoo lang starting pa lang ako. Ayoko ma-pressure na sumulat ng kanta. Gusto ko sumulat ako ‘pag may gusto akong sabihin, hindi para kumita. Ang trabaho ko naman talaga singing. Songwriting is more of on the side lang talaga,” she told Push.com.ph.

Asked if there’s any song that could sum up her 25 years in the industry, Aiza revealed that it would have to be the mash up of “If I Could” and “Wind Beneath My Wings”. “Yung ‘If I Could/Wind Beneath My Wings’ kanta ko for my mom. Parang it’s about if she could, she wants to protect me. Pero hindi ganon ang buhay. Darating yung time na magtratrabaho ka on your own. And what’s good about my mom is that hinayaan niya ako, kahit may time na alam niyang pwede akong masaktan. But still alam ko siya yung nag-lift up sa akin.”

Aiza added that the song “Bituing Walang Ningning” is also meaningful to her because it reminds her to stay grounded in spite of what she has achieved in showbiz. “Naka-relate ako diyan kasi para sa akin, ‘pag nasa industriya ka, you get blinded by the lights, ika nga. Sometimes you forget the most important things. Parang nawawala ka sa realidad. Akala natin success is yung manalo ka ng mga awards. Of course it’s good if you win awards. But sometimes you forget that when you are loved, it means more than anything.”

And speaking of love, Aiza said that she’ll be performing a duet of “If I Could/Wind Beneath My Wings” with former Protégé winner Krizza Neri in her concert at the Big Dome this Friday. Incidentally, the two have been romantically linked to each other ever since they worked together in the said singing competition. But when asked about the real score between them, Aiza refused to further talk about the issue. “Eto na lang, whatever I have with Krizza right now, we’re happy. Yun lang.” She was also deliberately being vague when asked if she’s currently in a relationship. “Ang puso ko ay malayang malaya. Hindi kailangan mabilanggo.”
