It feels good, it feels great. Parang everybody’s happy dahil lahat ng pinaghirapan namin, nag-pay off. Ang laking pasasalamat namin sa tao. Kasi going into this teleserye, hindi namin ini-expect na mag-hi-hit kasi nag-ho-hope pa lang kami na sana magustuhan ng tao so hindi namin alam kung papatok sa tao. Actually yung mga tao sa probinsya tuwing nag-mo-mall show kami, sinasabi nila na Princess and I is number one sa province nila. So sobrang saya. Tapos may US tour kami next month yata. Atsaka may Asian tour din so sobrang excited kami,” he shared.
The Amorosa: The Revenge actor has also been busy promoting his psych-thriller under Skylight Films. Enrique admitted he barely had enough time to get over the success of his Star Cinema barkada flick The Reunion. “Nung sinabi nila nanag-blockbuster yung The Reunion sabi ko, ‘Yes naka-blockbuster first time!’ Sobrang saya naming barkada. Sabi namin kung hindi talaga magustuhan ng tao ito okay lang, masaya tayo sa ginagawa natin at saka I’m sure yung ibang manunuod mag-e-enjoy,” he said.
When it comes to his Primetime Bida series, Enrique said fans of the show can expect more exciting things to happen with his character Jao. “There’s going to be more na mga pasabog kasi dun kami sa malalaman na yung true identity ni Mikay. So more of mga heartbreaks, downsides, and then upsides, basta sobrang rollercoaster na,” he said.
When asked if there’s a big chance Mikay and Jao will still end up together, Enrique gave an intriguing reply. “Basta, ang masasabi ko lang, magugulat sila sa ending.”
Despite the rivalry between the fans of the love teams of Kathryn Bernardo-Enrique and Kathryn-Daniel Padilla, the 20-year-old actor said that his friendship with co-star Daniel Padilla has not been affected. “Hindi naman, wala naman ata. Good friends naman kami,” he said. But Enrique admitted that he and DJ are also not the closest of friends. “Close? Siguro close naman na tipong asaran, tawanan kami, ganun, pag magkasama. Pero hindi naman yung tipong alam ko lahat ng sikreto siyempre,” he explained.
The mestizo heartthrob also has a message for his followers who have been involved in some Twitter wars with the fans of other love teams in Princess and I. “Sa mga fans, para sa akin lang, we do our job properly naman tapos yung mga love teams naman, huwag na natin gawing big issue. Dapat happy lang tayo para sa show di ba? Kahit kanino mapunta si Mikay, suporta lang sa show kasi mahal natin ang show. Sana mahalin niyo si Kathryn,” he said.
