Former first son Jake Ejercito only has good words for actress Andi Eigenmann, with whom he is being romantically linked.
"She's been doing well in her career, she's back on her feet, and I wish her all the best in her career. I hope maging successful pa siya sa mga projects niya," Ejercito told ABS-CBN News on Saturday.
Eigenmann currently topbills the drama series "Kahit Puso'y Masugatan" on ABS-CBN. She also has a number of film projects in the pipeline, including Viva Films' "A Secret Affair," in addition to the horror flick "Pridyider," which is currently in theaters.
Just last year, the "Agua Bendita" star was hounded by the controversy over her pregnancy, fueled by speculations on the father of her then unborn child.
When the camp of Eigenmann's first boyfriend, actor Albie Casino, expressed doubt over his being the father, fingers pointed at Ejercito as being the dad. Eigenmann, however, cleared the name of former President Joseph "Erap" Estrada's son, and instead pointed to Casino as being the father of her child in a blog entry.
Since then, Ejercito has been rumored to be in a relationship with Eigenmann, but the actress, in several interviews, maintains that they are merely "special friends."
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Ejercito echoed the actress' statements, adding that they continue to "see each other."
"We're still good friends, we never stopped being friends, I still see her. We still see each other," said Ejercito, who has been in the country for over a month for a vacation from his studies in London.
On whether he will play a role in the upcoming baptism of Eigenmann's daughter, Adrianna Gabrielle, Ejercito said: "Wala pa naming invitation, wala pa naman sinasabi si Andi, so hindi ko alam. I won't be there anyway. I think it will be next month. I will be in London then."
