Pinoy Big Brother Unlimited Big Winner Slater Young revealed that it was his fellow ex-housemate Divine Smith who asked him to be her date for the Star Magic ball. They looked like a cool couple, but the PBB heartthrob maintained that they’re just good friends. “It’s my first time ever to attend the Star Magic ball. Actually, she asked me. Magkasama kasi kami two days ago. Sabi niya, ‘Do you have a date?’ Sabi ko, ‘Wala.’ Sabi niya, ‘Let’s go together.’”
Formerly known as “The Hotshot Engineer of Cebu,” Slater said that he’s currently busy taping A Beautiful Affair which top-bills John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo. He was not only impressed by Bea’s dramatic prowess, but also by her friendly attitude. “I’ve met the whole group. But I’ve done a scene with Bea. It was nerve-wracking. Sobrang kinakabahan ako. Buti na lang ang bait niya. It was a crying scene pero she took the time to make me feel comfortable.” The whole cast and staff of the said teleserye recently went to Tagaytay for another team-building session according to Slater.
Although he’s yet to star in his very own show, Slater has maintained a strong group of supporters who keep him trending on Twitter. “Oo, thankful ako talaga. Sobrang sipag ng supporters ko. Blessed lang talaga.” Asked if he’s pressured to maintain his good boy image, the 24-year-old said that he just stays true to himself as much as possible. “Alam mo naman na it’s me talaga. Pero siyempre tao lang din tayo. Nagkakamali pa minsan. I don’t know what to expect. Medyo pressured din.”
Slater is currently single and unattached. Among his list of celebrity crushes are Jessy Mendiola, Anne Curtis, and Solenn Heussaff.
