After his successful stint as Budoy, Gerald Anderson admitted that he’s excited to start working on a new teleserye opposite Cristine Reyes. “Miss ko na rin magtaping pero siyempre ayoko rin madaliin. Meron naman pinaghahandaan yung ABS-CBN. Ayoko naman pangunahan. I’m really excited. Meron kaming gagawin. Actually kasama ko si Cristine Reyes at marami pang iba,” he said in an interview with Push.com.ph.
Gerald did not miss the irony and the connection to his “baby girl” Sarah Geronimo, who was in a secret relationship with Rayver Cruz before the latter got involved with Cristine Reyes back in 2010. To make the matter more surreal, Gerald happens to be close friends with Rayver. He obviously remembered the controversy involving Sarah, Rayver, and Cristine, but Gerald refused to comment about it.
“Tanungin niyo si Rayver. Meron siyang sinabi nung nalaman niya na magkakatrabaho kami ni Cristine. Huwag sa akin. Pero si Rayver very supportive, alam niyo naman yun, best friend ko ‘yan e. Actually isa siya sa mga excited para sa amin. Pero tanungin niyo siya kapag natiyempuhan niyo si Rayver. Siya ang magsasabi sa inyo.”
In the meantime, Gerald shared that it’s always a challenge to be paired with a new leading lady. But knowing Cristine’s dramatic prowess, he’s confident that they’d make a good team-up. “Oo naman, familiar ako sa teleseryes niya. Yung sa kanila ni Piolo Pascual (Dahil Sa Pag-ibig) at siyempre yung Kristine Series. Napakagaling niyang artista. Excited ako kasi ibang chemistry naman ang pwede namin i-offer sa tao. Hindi pa kami nagumpisa mag-taping. But it’s a new partnership na dapat abangan ng tao.”
Is it going to be an action-drama? “Medyo. Nailatag na sa akin pero siyempre pinaplano pa. Kailangan paghandaan. Sana maging magandang follow up after Budoy.”
