Based on the trailers alone, This Guy’s In Love With You Mare has already gained positive feedback among moviegoers. But Toni Gonzaga insisted that there’s more to come in this comedy flick which also top-bills Vice Ganda and Luis Manzano. Asked if there’s pressure for them to beat the phenomenal success of Praybeyt Benjamin, the actress-host shared that she’d rather focus on bringing entertainment to the public. “Lagi naman may pressure sa every project na ginagawa natin. Mas may pressure lang dahil sa na-reach ng movie ni Vice noon. Pero ‘di kasi namin iniisip yun sa ngayon. Ine-enjoy lang namin yung pelikula.”
One of the crazy things she did for this movie is to do a kissing scene with Vice. “Pinakamalalang nagawa ko sa buong buhay ko. May eksena kami na hindi ko alam kung paano namin nagawa. Panoorin ninyo na lang. First time ko na-experience yung ganong klaseng kissing scene. Kakaiba! Hindi ko ma-describe. Nakakabaliktad ng sikmura. Abangan ninyo, nakakatawa yung eksena.”
Toni has been good friends with Vice for several years now, but she’s happy to see that the latter is more motivated to work harder nowadays. “Mas mahusay siya ngayon, mas mabilis at iba na yung kumpiyansa niya sa sarili niya. Dahil alam niya na mahusay siya at madaming nagmamahal sa kanya. Idagdag pa si Luis (Manzano) who has always been a good friend of mine, kaya masaya ako na nakatrabaho ko siya sa proyektong ito.”
Despite her busy schedule, Toni added that she makes it a point to spend quality time with long-time boyfriend Paul Soriano. “Okay na okay, pareho pa rin. As is, where is ang relationship namin. Pero kahit na may kanya-kanya kaming pinagkakaabalahan, we see to it na may effort talaga kami to make time to see each other. Minsan inii-schedule, minsan spontaneous yung mga lakad.”
