Aborted na ang isyu ng bentahan ng GMA 7 kay Mr. Manny Pangilinan ng TV5.
Nagkaroon na kahapon ng announcement sa ipinadalang statement ng GMA 7 : “MediaQuest Holdings Inc. (Mediaquest) and the major shareholders of GMA Network, Inc. (GMA) have announced the termination of recent discussions with respect to a possible acquisition of a controlling interest in GMA by Mediaquest and its affiliate within the PLDT Group. The parties have been unable to arrive at mutually acceptable terms despite the continual discussions and efforts exerted in good faith,” sabi sa statement.
“The issues that the parties were not able to resolve had nothing to do with the price,” sabi ni Mr. Felipe L. Gozon, President/COO ng GMA 7. Kahit sinasabing walang kinalaman ang presyo, maraming pa ring duda dahil sinasabing P60 billion ang halagang pinag-uusapan.
Pero dagdag ni Mr. Gozon, kung merong serious offer sa mga susunod na panahon, puwede pa raw nilang i-consider. “If there is a serious offer in the future, then we are willing to consider.”
Hindi ito ang unang pagkakataon na hindi natuloy ang bentahan ng GMA 7 sa MediaQuest.
Samantala, ayon sa report bumagsak ang shares ng GMA kahapon pagkatapos mabalitang hindi na matutuloy ang bilihan.
Tapos na ngayon ang pag-asa ng ibang artista na magkakasama ang dalawang channel. Mas malaki nga naman ang magiging market nila kung magpapalipat-lipat sila sa dalawang channel.
