Known for being one of the most conservative stars of her generation, actress-host Toni Gonzaga agreed for the first time to wear a bathing suit for a film project.
Gonzaga topbills the Star Cinema film "This Guy's In Love With You Mare" with Vice Ganda and Luis Manzano.
The actress-host, dubbed as the country's "Multimedia Queen," believes she is old enough to wear a bathing suit for the big screen.
"First time ito. Para kay direk (Wenn Deramas). Ngayon lang, sandali lang 'yung eksena na 'yon," said Gonzaga, who stressed that she did it because she trusts the movie's director.
"Si direk Wenn [napapayag ako]. Kasi alam ko naman kapag si direk Wenn ang gumawa ng eksena ay hindi naman bastos eh. Comedy kasi ang ginagawa namin. Hindi naman ito 'yung maselang pelikula na may mga love scene or bed scene," she explained.
Asked if her boyfriend, director Paul Soriano, won't get mad at her because of what she did, Gonzaga said: "Hindi. Baka nga mommy ko. Na-shock nga ang mommy ko. 'Bakit ka nag-bathing suit?' Sabi ko 'Kasi mommy, may edad na rin naman ako. Hindi na naman ako bata so tanggap na rin naman.'"
